In the hallway you need a closet or coat rack to store your clothes. The usual closet is inconvenient because of the swinging doors that block the passage, and the rack with a lot of clothes looks far from as aesthetically pleasing as we would like. Therefore, in recent years, more and more often put a closet in the hallway. This type of furniture allows you to rationally use the entire useful volume – due to shelves, baskets, hangers, etc.

Types of designs

Coupe cabinets come in three types. Built-in are distinguished by the fact that they occupy a niche and do not have their own walls, floor and ceiling. A similar design is made when it is possible to fence off a part of the room from wall to wall. In this case, simply order a facade (doors) for the closet compartment with a system of rollers and guides. Inside they put partitions and attach/install the stuffing. In some hallways, a built-in closet compartment is made in place of the former pantry, in another layout manages to fence off the part in the end.

If such an opportunity is not available, put a cabinet cabinet coupe. This is a full-fledged large closet with a back wall, sidewalls, floor and ceiling. It differs in the design of the doors and filling. Another difference – this type of storage systems try to make under the ceiling to maximize the use of all the space. And it looks more organic.

The next type is a corner closet coupe in the hallway. They are usually small in size, convenient because they allow you to use the space in the corner, which is otherwise difficult to use. In large corner designs is hard to pick up the filling in the corner – to be convenient to use must try hard.

Radial closets coupe. They differ in that they do not have a flat and curved front part. Rounded can be and side walls. Such furniture is purely individual and looks very good, but is more expensive.

Filling

For coats and other long clothes will require a compartment where you can hang hangers. If the width of the closet is 60 cm or more, put the usual bar, on which the hangers (hangers) are attached. It can be placed at shoulder level or slightly higher.

With the width of the compartment closet 45 cm and less, it is necessary to look for a retractable design – transverse (frontal) bars, on which hangers hang parallel to the door, not sideways to it. Such structures are mounted just above the level of your head – it is more convenient. You need to raise your arm to hang the hanger. Therefore, approximately at this level, a shelf is attached, and to it is already a barbell.

The height of these departments depends on what you plan to store here. Under cloaks, coats, coats, fur coats compartments make 130-150 cm, depending on the height of the owners. Under jackets, jackets and other similar clothes allot 90-120 cm.

With the height of the closet compartment in 220 cm and more in one section, if necessary, you can place two compartments for crossbars with hangers. In the upper one is installed not a rod, but a pantograph. This is a crossbar with a mechanism that allows it to be raised and lowered.

All this allows you to conveniently and compactly arrange outerwear.

Footwear storage

For shoes is allocated to the lower part of the closet compartment. To store shoes it is more convenient to install not shelves made of chipboard, and mesh. Firstly, such shelves have better “viewability”, secondly, they do not accumulate dust and dirt, thirdly, it is convenient to put shoes on heels.

On the photo you see special pull-out systems for shoes. Mesh, those that are narrower, you can fix two in one compartment: on the right and left wall. They are not very wide and there is even a small distance between them.

Instead of grids, you can install several tubes or bars at a small distance from each other. Moreover, the rear tube should be a little higher.

The height of the compartments for shoes is determined based on its number. Someone is enough for two, and someone and five will not be enough. That and convenient closet coupe in the hallway, that you can develop a filling for your needs.

Shelves-boxes

At the very top of the design – under the ceiling – make an extensive department, in which large rarely used things are stored. There you can also send clothes that are not worn in a given season. The height of this shelf is about 60 cm, but look at the circumstances.

The remaining free space is filled with shelves and drawers or wire baskets. Here you will be able to store hats, bags, mittens, gloves, scarves, etc. It is also convenient to have a compartment for umbrellas. It is especially necessary for long umbrellas of the “cane” type. Their distribution is arbitrary – as you find it more convenient, so do it. There is only one nuance with drawers. The compartment where they are located should be narrower than the width of the door. Only then the drawers will slide out.

Vacuum cleaner and ironing board

In the closet for the hallway, you can hide an ironing board and a vacuum cleaner. These are two devices that are quite difficult to find a place for storage.

The picture below provides a place for a regular ironing board. They, by the way there are recessed, with a system of attachment to the walls. But in this case you will not be able to move them to another room and ironing will have to be done in the hallway.

Under the vacuum cleaner is simply allocated a compartment suitable in size. It can be specially planned for the existing unit.

Ideas for decoration and design

First let’s talk about what compartment cabinets are made of. The entire design can be divided into a body and a facade (doors). The body is made of laminated chipboard or MDF. Option with chipboard is cheaper, but the designs are obtained only rectilinear – this material does not bend and the technology of its manufacture does not allow you to get curved surfaces. MDF is a more ecological and expensive material. It can be used to form rounded edges.

Fronts or doors for compartment cabinets are made of different materials, framed in a frame from the profile. They use:

• Laminated chipboard and MDF. Laminating film can repeat the texture of wood, leather, be solid-colored matte or glossy, with a pattern of geometric or floral.

  

• Glass. Transparent glass is almost never used, but colored or frosted glass can be found.

  

• Mirror. A very common material. On the surface of the sandblast technology is applied drawings. They can cover the mirror almost entirely, leaving small fragments of untouched mirror, and can be applied only in fragments.

  

• Separately, it is worth mentioning photoprinting. This technology allows you to transfer any image to the film. This film is then glued to the facade.
