Principle of operation and composition of the system

Gidrolock system should be triggered very rarely and the main time is in standby mode. In order to keep the equipment working, it is necessary to test it. The test is carried out in automatic mode. To prevent deposits in the valve from jamming, the valve is forced closed and opened once a week. If the faucet failed to close, an alarm is activated.

Additional features

In the system of protection against leaks Hydrolok has two more options:

Sensors

Sensors are supplied with a cable length of 3 to 5 meters, if it is not enough, it can be extended up to 100 meters. Recommended cables are FTP 2x2x0,35 and SHTLP 4.

Wireless devices

Wired sensors are more reliable as wire breakage is very rare. Radio sensors can be affected by interference that cannot be foreseen. In order to prevent such an event from leading to a false alarm, the system can send SMS (if GSM notification is available), but the water does not close.

  • Radio sensor – Spider. It is used to expand the territory. Connection to the control unit is wireless, but to the spider connect in a parallel scheme wired sensors WSP up to 20 pieces. “Spider” monitors signals from connected devices and in case of water leakage transmits a signal to the controller. Power supply 3 volts, dimensions 45*70*8 mm.

  • WSR. Sensor in the form of a small cylinder in five colors. Works independently or with connected WPS sensors. Powered by a CR2450 battery. Cost $30.

Servo actuators and ball valves

High torque makes it possible to turn off boiling taps, that’s why gearboxes are made of metal. Long closing time is not so important, it is more important to close the valve and eliminate the leak.

Disadvantages of the Hydrolock protection

The Hydrolok water leak tracking system is well designed. However, there are drawbacks in any system. In this case they are non-critical and with proper care they can be avoided, these are:

  1. The system does not have DIN rail mounting capability.
  2. If the battery breaks down, the system does not work.
  3. The batteries in the sensors are soldered.

After triggering the system Hydrolock will not restore operation on its own, even if the contacts are dry. It is necessary to turn it off and on.
