Installation

The only thing that needs to be taken care of in advance or immediately after purchase is the purchase of a faucet, if it is not included in the kit, and a 12 mm drill bit for drilling a hole for the faucet.

Before you buy a drill bit, you need to determine where the hole for the faucet will be. If the faucet will be installed on a metal sink, then choose a drill bit for metal, with a ceramic sink buy a drill bit for ceramic.

The housing of the filter system is fixed with only two screws. But choosing a place for its installation, take into account a couple of moments:

• The length of the connecting tubes should be enough from the filter to the water supply system, and to the faucet on the sink.
• Leave a gap at the bottom under the filter elements at least 1 centimeter. This distance is necessary for easy removal of the cartridges.

Important. Before connecting the water purifier, close the main water supply tap, and open the cold water tap on the faucet.

Cartridges

No additional hardware is needed to install or replace the cartridges. The filter elements have a fastening made by Smartlock technology, preventing their spontaneous unscrewing (disconnection).

To install a new element, turn the old cartridge half a turn counterclockwise and pull it out. The replacement filter is inserted into the filter element mounting block and rotated^{900 until} it clicks into place.

It should be noted the interchangeability of filter elements within the EXPERT range. If you have made a mistake with the choice of a set or the water quality changes seasonally, it is acceptable to select filters according to the current requirements.

For example, you have purchased the model BARRIER EXPERT Slim Standard, but found out that you are more suitable cartridge is not “ion exchange” included in the set, and “softening”. You can safely install it.

Cartridge life depends on what it is designed for and the degree of water pollution. The table shows the terms of cartridge replacement depending on the hardness of water and the model of Barrier filter.

Application of Barrier filter

Basically, Barrier filters are used to purify tap water in the home, but they can well be used in offices or small catering establishments. In offices, Barrier Expert can be used to obtain drinking water for coffee machines and other devices that use water in the preparation of drinks.

If there is no centralized water supply, for example, in a private house or a cottage, and water supply is organized from a well or borehole, it is quite acceptable to install a filter in these cases.

The main condition is that the pumping station creates a pressure of not less than 2 and not more than 7 atmospheres, necessary for the normal operation of the filter.
