The use of inexpensive materials has reduced the price, and the use of the right technological solutions and advanced equipment has made the laser level popular.

So, we have a review of the laser level 4D HIBIRU, model OMNITRONIC 4360. Let’s consider, in addition to the specific characteristics, equipment, pluses and, of course, minuses of the device. Let’s start with the characteristics, since we will refer to some data in the review.

Case

Let’s start with the case. It is not very practical and safe for the tool to not have one. A bag is a good option, but the device of the laser level implies that it must be protected. No matter how carefully you handle the device, there is still a danger of dropping it, getting caught on something and finally, it will simply fall during transportation.

The case is made of ordinary plastic, but there is nothing wrong with it. The main thing is that it has stiffening ribs, which makes it sturdy, which is important for safe storage. The latches correspond to the color of green beams of the device, this is correct, as there are levels with red color beams.

The spoon under the accessories is made of polyethylene foam, which is good, foam with time deteriorates and crumbles.

Tripod

Using the elevational tripod gives the opportunity to raise the level to a height from 45 cm to 1.2 meters. It’s lightweight, but it does the job of holding the Hibiru 4D leveler in both normal and tilted positions. A bubble level is built into the top platform to help level the tripod.

The telescopic leg locks are located on the inside of the legs. Not to say it’s convenient, but probably done for aesthetic purposes or for safety, there are no protruding parts. This is the way many cheap, Chinese tripods are organized.

On the central rod there is a lock from spontaneous folding. There is a carrying case for carrying and storage.

Laser level

The body is made of ordinary plastic with a metal bottom pad. The top cover, in tone with the beam has a green color. A very good solution for Hibiru is the use of a spatial bubble level. This allows quick and accurate installation of the device.

Switching on is done by a switch, simultaneously activates the self-levelling function, which works up to angles of³⁰, if this value is exceeded, a warning sound signal is emitted.

The device is equipped with a pendulum type compensator with magnetic dampers. The time of stabilization and transition to the working position is within 5 seconds.

If it is necessary to carry out work with tilt, touching and holding the middle sensor for 2-3 seconds activates the TILT function. In this case, the audible roll warning is turned off, the compensator and beams are disabled. In this state it is better to protect the device from shocks.

The 4 towers of the Hibiru laser level project 16 green beams over 360 degrees, forming 8 horizontal and 8 vertical lines. The green laser color has the best visibility both indoors and outdoors. To distinguish the lines well at long distances, goggles are included.

The panel has three touch-sensitive buttons labeled:

• “H” – controls the horizontal beams.
• “V” – vertical.
• – brightness control.

The middle touch controls another function:

• A long touch of 2 seconds activates the TILT function.

The Hibiru Level 4D is powered by 3.7 volt, quick-change Li-on batteries with a capacity of 5800 mAh. The batteries without recharging provide 8-9 hours of operation, which is almost a full working day. If the batteries are discharged, it is possible to work from the mains by connecting the charging unit.

L-bracket

Required for working at heights higher than the tripod height and under the ceiling. It is equipped with two neodymium magnets that allow you to attach to metal structures in the room, and in their absence to the metal plate, available in the kit. Fixing the leveler to the L-bracket is carried out behind the upper tower with a special adapter.

The position of the fixed laser level on the bracket can be adjusted in several planes: vertically, horizontally and around its own axis.

Lift-base

Lift-base is necessary for precise beam positioning. The platforms are made of aluminum with a plastic lifting mechanism. Very unreliable and the platform tilts when lifted.

Base ³⁶⁰⁰

Allows you to rotate the beams precisely to the vertical of an already installed Hibiru 4D level with minimal impact to the level.

Remote control

The Hibiru laser level has a remote control function. The remote allows you to turn the beams on and off, as well as adjust their brightness. In this model, there is no option to enable the tilt function from the remote. The control range is 30 meters.

This model does not have the TILT function enabled with the remote, although it is listed in the manual.

Adapters

Adapters are included for mounting to a tripod, base, etc:

• ¼ thread mount;
• from 5/8 thread to ¼ thread;
• L-bracket mount;
• for working at an incline.

Pros and cons of the device

Every device has minuses. The Hibiru Omnitronic Level 4D is not without them either, but the number of positive qualities is greater, which allows you to give the device a positive review.

Negative points are also there, but they are fewer. Let’s not mention the use of cheap plastic, that’s not a minus, but the flimsy turrets, that’s an oversight. So:

• flimsy prism turrets;
• the stock is not in the shape of the leveler;
• lift-base play;
• scratched glasses.

Place under the instrument in the spoon is not quite in shape with low sides. In the lift-base, the lift mechanism is made of plastic and has a large backlash in the housing. When the elevator is raised with the Hibiru Omnitronic level mounted on it we get a big roll. Metal towers would have more durability.

There is no receiver in the kit, but this is also not a disadvantage, you can buy it separately. It can be replaced if necessary by a smartphone with the front camera on.

However, it should be noted that all these comments do not affect the accuracy and performance of the device.

Feedback on the leveler

When working with a level on the construction site, you need well-distinguishable lines, accuracy of projection, ease of installation and control.
